SHIPPING COMPANY BOARD.

MR. NEW TITLE. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, this day. Mr. Charles M. Turrell, Dominion superintendent of the New Zealand Shipping Company, has been elected to the New Zealand board of the company. He will in future be designated general manager for New Zealand, which title, it is considered, more clearly expresses the position he occupies. Mr. Turrell entered the New Zealand Shipping Company's office at Christchurch in 1885 and was in turn stationed at Lyttelton, Timaru, Oamaru, Napier, Christchurch, Auckland and Wellington. He was acting manager at Auckland in 1914 and was appointed assistant manager at Wellington in the following year. He attained the position of manager at Wellington in 1919. He was a member of the Wellington Harbour Board for fourteen years and. has had considerable experience on conciliation councils.
