GAMES WITH DAVIS CUP TEAM.
CEYLON, April 5. Ati official International tennis match between New Zealand and Ceylon, on Saturday and Sunday at Colombo, was won by New Zealand by four rubbers to one. Andrews beat Pinto, 6—o, 11 "12; Andrews beat. Nicholas, 6—3, 3—6, 6—l. Stedman beat Pinto, 6—i, S-—O, Pinto retired. Stedman beat Nicholas, 6 —-4, B—6, Andrews and •Stedman lost to Dr. Gunasekera and Sansoni, 6—l, B—6, 4—6 . The Australian Davis Cup team also met a Ceylon side, reinforced by the New Zealanders. Quist beat Stedman in fine style, 6—3, 7 —5, while Turnbull and" Andrews won a set each, 3-—6, 6—2. This rubber was abandoned owing to rain. Crawford and Turnbull bea tthe Ceylon doubles pair.
MORRINSVILI-E CLUB.
The Morrinsville Tennis Club has concluded a season regarded as the most successful for many years. The membership was larger than usual, and players showed Improvement as the season advanced. Winners of -trophies for the season :— Championships.—Men's singles, J. Heeps; men's doubles, C. T. Gould and G. S. Thorpe; ladies' singles, Miss M. Clark; ladles' doubles, Mrs. Milburn and Miss A. Cornish; combined doubles, G. S. Thorpe and Miss T. Sutherland.
Handicap Tournament. —Ladles* doubles, Misses O. Colson and M. Clark; men's doubles, C. T. f Gould and G. S. Thorpe; combined doubles, C.- T. Gould and Miss M. •Clark.
