PERSONAL.
Mr. Sholto Smith, of Auckland, is at present on a visit to Tolaga Bay. The Hon. ,C. J. Carrington, M.L.C., returned to Auckland this morning. Mr. Paul Vinogradoff will, leave by the Limited for the South to-night. Mr Oliver Nicholson and Sir George Elliot left by the Limited for the South last night. Mr. W. J-. Holdsworth has been reappointed a member of the Local Government Loans Board
. Commissioner J. Cunningham, head of the Salvation Army, arrived in Auckland by the Limited this morning.
Dr. H. A. Cunningham, of Masterton, who has been spending several days in Auckland, will return South to-night.
Mr. and Mrs. E. S. Little, of China, who have been visiting Kerikeri, will leave Auckland for the East to-morrow.
Major-General W. L. H. Sinclair Burgess, General Officer Commanding the New Zealand Forces, returned South last night.
Messrs. W. F. Edmond, William Taylor, W. O. McKellar and F. Oldham, directors of Kemptliorne, Prosser and Company, Ltd., who have been on a. business visit to Auckland, returned South last night.
Mr. Malcolm Stewart, who has been appointed assistant manager of Kemptliorne, Prosser and Company's New Zealand Drug Company, Ltd., with headquarters in Dunedin, will leave for the South at an early date.
Captain J. D. Goring-Johnson, member of a well-known Hawke's Bay family, arrived in Wellington this week from Sydney. He recently retired from tho army, having been associated with, tho 16th-sth Lancers Regiment, and he intends. to live in Hawke's Bay.
