DEATH IN SYDNEY.
FORMER AUCKLAND MINISTER. SYDNEY, March 27. The death has occurred of the Rev. Dr R Scott West, formerly of Auckland and one time Moderator of the Presbyterian Church in New South Wales. • For some yeare prior to 1899, when he accented a call to Sydney, Dr. Scott West was minister of St. David's Preebyterian Church, Auckland, in which post he became very popular among the young men of his congregation, whom he invited to his .house one night in the week for an hour or two's pleasant conversation. He waß aleo popular in New South Wales, risin" to be Moderator of the Presbytery of that State, and senior chaplain to the forces.
