STILL HELD UP.

MAUNGANUI AT WELLINGTON. STEWARDS NOT SIGNED ON. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, this day. The Maunganui is still at the wharf and her sailing has been postponed till 3 p.m. It is known that a call for stewards to sign on this morning was without result. It is believed that the ship's departure time will be put off every few hours till a settlement is reached. The veesel will be unable to make up the time lost on her run to San Francisco, but postal officials say they are hopeful of connecting with the mail liners for England from America. As a rule there are plenty of etewards around the waterfront looking for work, but because of the seasonal exodus of ships with produce for overseas there are not so many as usual just now.
