SCREECHING FIRE SIREN.
COMPLAINT AT ONFHXTN' G-A.
A complaint of the screeching of the siren at Onehunga Fire Brigade station was received last night by the Borough Council from a resident, Mr. S. J. Brookfield. He said the siren screeched every time a fire occurred, day or night, and asked that consideration be given to residents in the vicinity of the station, especially sick or nervous ones. Mr. F. W. Mountjoy pointed out that the borough wa< served by volunteer firemen and until their residences were connected with the fire station by telephone, the sounding of the siren would be necessary to call them to a fire. I The letter was referred to the Fire Board.
