WOMAN ROBBED.

HANDBAG SNATCHED.

ATTACKED BY MAN AND

WOMAN.

POINT CHEVALIER AFFAIR.

While at the gate of her home in Boscawen Avenue, Point Chevalier, on Thursday night a woman named Mrs. Spiers was robbed of her handbag and money by an unknown man and woman.

Mrs. Spiers, it is understood, was on her way home at 9.30 p.m. and was joined by a man and a woman, who chatted to her as they all walked along the avenue. When Mrs. Spiers stopped at the entrance to her home to say goodnight to the couple, it is alleged that both caught hold of her, and that the man snatched her handbag from her. The bag contained several pounds in money and some papers, besides other articles. Although not injured by the pair, Mrs. Spiers was scratched about the hands and arms. Her two assailants quickly escaped.
