CHURCH BUILDING.

CHRISTIAN SCIENCE CAUSE. SITE IN SYMONDS STREET. A new church, at the cost of £8000, is to be erected for the First Church of Christ, Scientist, on the present site at the corner of Symonds Street and St. Martin' 3 Lane. Plans for the erection of a modern structure in Georgian style have been prepared by Mr. Charles Towle, engineer, and the work will be shortly commenced oy Mr. C. W. Ravenhall, of Orakei.

The new church structure will incorporate the present church building, which in future will be used as a Sunday school. It is to be of reinforced concrete and structural steel, faced externally with red brick and artificial stone, with a red tiled roof.

The main entrance from Symonds Street will be through lonic columns, and granite steps will lead to three arched doorways. There will be seating accommodation for 500.
