WORKERS RIOT.

Japanese Sequel to Exchange Action. SINGERS' EMPLOYEES. KOBE, January 19. A prolonged agitation among the firm of Singers' 8000 employees culminated at Yokohama in 100 discharged workers rushing the office. They broke doors, windows and furniture and threw all the books and documents into the river. The mob then attacked the loyal employees, severely beating 20 of them. The police arrested 50 of the rioters. The trouble was caused by yen exchange making the firm's machines too costly in the depression period.
