Trawler Lost In North. Sea. DAMAGE IN IRELAND. (British Official Wireless.) (Received 1 p.m.) RUGBY, January 2. A violent storm swept over Ireland, Western England and Scotland during the week-end. In Valentia, Ireland, the force of the wind-rose to over 90 miles per hour in gusts, in one of which a speed of 96 miles an hour was recorded. Great damage was done to property in Southern Ireland, and heavy rains caused the rivers to overflow their banks. Sea walls were damaged in various districts and sections of railway lines in some places were torn up. A southerly gale in the North Sea was particularly severe on the East Coast of Scotland. The Aberdeen trawler Venetia was lost with all nine hands near Stonehaven to-day.
