CLUB AT BROWN'S BAY.

Mr 4. S Gardiner, of Mairangi. outlined a schema (at a big meeting held at Brown s Bay) fSr protection of bathers on the Auckland East Coast beaches from Campbell s Bav to Long Bay this summer. It provided for the formation of a club on the lines of other Auckland fubs and beach organise a patrol and, as funds permit, procure surf life-saving reels and lines The club headquarters would be situated at Brown's Bay, and, as any beach patrol became sufficiently strong to be selfsupporting, it could form its own club if so de Mr ed G. W. Cameron, on behalf of the Auckland head centre of the Royal Lifesaving Society, outlined life-saving work and also that of life-saving clubs, and offered the assistance of the centre. . Mr R Moor, chief instructor, and Mr. H c" Sidford, secretary; of the. Takapuna Club,' offered, to instruct members and to give club displays of land- drill and water work with reel and line. Twenty-nine senior members were enrolled from among thdse present Ladies will be able to join as associate members as well as junior* under ..the age-of 16 years.
