ENTRIES CLOSE TO-MORROW. Entries for keel and for centreboard boats for the ocean race from Auckland to the Mount, Tauranga, close at eight o clock to-morrow wifch Mr. W. J. flicks, secretary of the Royal-New Zealand Yacht Squadron. Owing to tBV times the cash prizes this year are not«sb good as formerly. Ihe first prize for keel. yachts, in addition to the -Colin NorrJs gold. cup and miniature, is £5. The same cash prize is offered for. the centreboard class, in addition to the Clench trophy. To mark hie ' approval of long-distance rnrine Mr Ernest Davis, who was waited on tMs mornl?g by Mr.'w. A. Wilkinson, representing . the Tauranga Regatta Club, has supplemented the first prize with a donation of £2,10/ towards first _ prizeJn both the keel and the centreboard classes, which wilfc now be £7 10/ each. No doubt Mr. Davis' sporting action will be appreciated by boat owners as it is by the regatta committee, and should help to increase interest in this popular annual race.
