TE KORERO For Boy Scouts

No. 1 District. Intermittent rain somewhat marred the No. 1 district sports held at the Western Springs on Saturday last, and caused a decision to be made to cancel the evening campfire. St. James' troop captured 'both the senior and_ junior trophies by a comfortable margin. St. Thomas',', New Lynn. On Monday evening laet the troop had a most pleasant surprise when A.S.M. Hepper presented them with a silver cup, which is to be presented to the best scout at the end of each month. Several scoute have now been passed for the remaining test for their second class, while ofhere are -working hard for various badges. The usual church parade was held laet Sunday, when Archdeacon Mac Murray took the sermon. ♦ » , ♦ » All Saints' Group Committee. The 1932 activities of the All Saints' group committee were brought to a close last evening by a pleasant supper party held after the usual monthly meeting. When the business for the night was concluded members were motored to the home of the cubmaster, ■where they were welcomed by Mrs. Cockfield. Competitions were conducted whilst supper was being prepared, and musical items and a community singsong, led by the Rev. Mr. Fallowes, followed. A few words of thanks to the hostess by a committeeman and the singing of "Auld Lang Syne" brought this most jolly evening to a close.
