LODGE FUNCTIONS. PROVINCIAL ACTIVITIES. PROGRESS OF ORDERS. The Pride of Roskill Lodge, No. 91, 1.0. G.T., is still forging ahead, and at the last two meetings added six new members to the roll. Official visits have been received from Bro. Price, Grand Secretary, and Sis. Price, Bro. Pace, G.S.J. W., Bro. Moore, D.C.T., and the officers and members of the Endeavour. The former conducted the business of one meeting, and gave a short account of the work of the Order in New Zealand. A special welcome was extended to Sis. Price, who is recovering after a severe illness. The last meeting was noteworthy for the visit of the City Lodge members (Endeavour). Under Sis. Hodgkinson, C.T., and Bro. Hodgkinson, L.D., they attended in good numbers and gave a very nice programme. The serving of supper brought each meeting to a harmonious conclusion.

The Star of Newmarket Lodge, U.A.0.D., met in the Council Chambers lodge room on Wednesday last, the A.D., Bio. Potter, presiding over a large attendance of members and visitors. Among the latter were the D.P., Bro. Hunt, P.D.P., Bro. J. Rutledge, P.D.P., Bro. Thomas, P.D.P., Bro. McCowatt, and representatives from Light of Manukau, Auckland, Eden, Ponsonby and Waitemata Lodg"s. The chief business of the evening was the election of officers for the new term, and the ritual competition against the Roskill Lodge. Bros. J. Rutledge, S. Thorns, G. Stone and Bro. Coklicutt acted as judges of the ritual, which was very well carried out. The award was finally made adjudging Eoskill to be the winners with BCB points, against Newmarket's 812. The election of officers resulted as follows: J.P.A., Bro. Potter; A.D., Bro. Card well; V.A., Bro. Lenther; 1.G., Bro. Monroe; 0.G., Bro. J. Lumpkin; A.D.B.'s, Bros. Smart and Donnelley; V.A.B.'s, Bros. Andrews and Maekay; Auditor, Bro. Hedges; Organist, Bro. Turner; Chief Steward, Bro. A. Mnckay; Wizard of Finance, Bro. Smart; Hospital Delegate, Bro. Cardwell; Reporter, Bro. .1. Blakemore, P.D.P.; Grand Lodge Delegate, Bro. J. Potter. At the conclusion of the business the lodge adjourned for harmony, items being rendered by Bros. Polkinghorne, Greer, Potter, Mackay, McCowatt and Hunt. Bro. Turner acted as accompanist in his usual satisfactory manner.

The Enterprise Lodge, No. 80, 1.0. G.T., met at Onehunga on Thursday evening, Sis. Jamicsoii, V.T., presiding in the absence through illness of the C.T., Bro. Ardeni. -An official visit was received from the officers and member's of the Endeavour Lodge, city; also from several members of the Pride of Roskill Lodge. After the formal opening, a hearty welcome was extended to the visitors, and the officers of the Endeavour Lodge were invited to occupy the chair and conduct the business of the evening. Several matters were discussed and remitted to the District Lodge Executive. Sis. R. Barnes was welcomed, after her illness, and installed in her position as Treasurer. At the close of the business, items were given by Sis. Eileen Smithson, Bros. M. Watts' and E. Horlgkinson. An interesting talk on Esperanto was given by Bro. Heatley. The serving of supper brought a pleasant evening to a close.

The Gordon Tent, T.0.R., met on Tuesday evening, Bro. Pace, C.R.. presiding over a good attendance. Three new members were initiated, two being transfers from the Juvenile Tent. The ceremony was carried out in a very impressive manner, and a warm welcome extended to the new sister and brethren. The election of officers for the now term resulted as follows: P.C.R., Bro. Pace; C.R., Bro. R. Dixon; D.R.. Bro. T. Asbe; Levitej Bro. Ashe, jiin.; Cash Steward, Sis. Campling; Book Steward, Bro. McGroucott; Guard, Bro. Torbett; Secretary and S.J.W., Bro. H. Campling; {Supporters to C.R., Bros. Jrelaiid and Jeffries; Supporters to D.R., Bros. A. and E. Caddy; auditors, Bros. Yockney and Ireland. The quarterly reports and balance-sheets showed both senior and juvenile tents to be in a sound position. It was decided to invite the juveniles to the next tent meeting and to have an open night. The C.R. reported on the visit to the M.U., 1.0.0. F., Loyal Manukau Lodge, and said the evening was most successful and enjoyable. The reining C.R. then installed the new officers and wished them every success during their term in the chairs.

The Endeavour Lodge, 1.0. G.T., met on Wednesday evening, Sister Hodgkinsori, C.T., being in the chair. A warm welcome was extended to Bros. Watts and Pepper on their return from the southern cruise. Each brought greetings from a number of the southern lodges and expressed their pleasure at a.gain being home. Bro. Glibbery was installed as pianist and quite a fair , amount of business was transacted. A very satisfactory report was received of the progress of the Juvenile Temple, eight new members having been received that evening, making a total of 15 initiations in three meetings and more to follow. The evening concluded with a social cup of tea.

The Light of Manukau Lodge, U.A.0.D., met in the Friendly Societies Hall, Grey Street, on Wednesday evennip, the Arch Druid, Bro. Hndwin, pissiding over a large attendance <•! members and visitors. Martin; treasurer, Bro. Gargin; secretary, Bro. H. Wellt;; minute secretary, Bro. Hudson; Press reporter, Bro. Mackay. A busy eveuing'was brought to a close with the serving of the usual refreshments.

A very successful danco and social evening was held by the combined Oddfellows' Lodges in the Kuraeu Hall on Saturday las-t. A very large attendance included visitors from Hobsonville, Wainiauku, Henderson, and Auckland city. Two competition waltzes were held during the evening the prizewinners being Mies Cane and' Mr. N. Spinley and Mrs. Dale and Mr. Mclntosh. The social committee was responsible for the serv'ng of a very nice supper and- the evening proved most happy and enjoyable.

The Dovonport Lodge No. 35, U.A.0.D., had a good attendance of'members and visitors at its last meeting, when the nomination and election of officers for the new term was carried out. The Arch Druid, Bro. W. Smith, presided, and with the help of his officers put the routine business through in good time. When the nominations were taken, very keen interest was shown, and on several occasions three ballots were necessary before the chosen officer could be found. This augurs well for the future success of the lodge, and it is hoped the keen interest will :be maintained. PJD.P.'s Bros. Govan and Fisher acted as scrutineers and were kept very 'busy. Bro. F. Hewitt, P.A., made a very efficient M.C. and helped things considerably with his knowledge and ability. The following brethreu were finally chosen as the captain and crew for the next term, and with the help of the members a most successful time is anticipated:—J.P.A., Bro. W. Smith; A.D., Bro. R. Edwards, P.A.-P.T.; and the Grand Lodge book examiner, Bro. J. Muehead, P.A.

The Loyal Waimauku Lodge, M.U.1.0.0.F,, celebrated their first anniversary at their meeting held in the Waimauku Hall on Wednesday evening. There were 100 members, and visitors present and the following lorlgee were represented: Loyal Good Intent, Remnera, Ponsonby, Ranf urly, Doniinion, Avon, Lynndale and Loyal Franklin. The following officers were elected and installed for the ensuing six-months:— T.P.N.G.. Bro. D. Hyland; N.G., Sfcter L. Tye; V.G., Bro. H." Coles; elective eecrctary, Bro. F. Good; financial secretary, Bro. W. Kedgley; lecture master, Bro. W. T. Turlcy. Tlie installations, were performed by the visiting district officers. A very enjoyable dance followed and during supper the lodge birthday cake was cut by Sifter Turley and the candle was lit by Sister Tye.
