OBITUARY.

MRS. ANNIE DOUGLAS. An old resident of Xew Zealand, Mrs. Annie Douglas, died at her home, Groat South Road, aged S5 years. She wae horn in Tipperary, and came to New Zealand with two uncles in the ship Armstrong in 1804. She was married to Mr. Douglas in 1870, and they' took up land in Thames Valley. They returned to Auckland to live in 1013. Mrs. Douglas is survived by her husband and seven children. Tn 1030 Mr. and Mrs. Douglas celebrated their golden wedding anniversary.

MRS. ANN KNIGHT.

' Mrs. Ann Knight, an old resident of Mount Eden Road, died on December sat the age of 88 years. Born in England, she was married in Leicestershire in 18CG to Mr. William Knight. They arrived in Auckland with their five children by the ship Famenoth, where Mr. Knight worked as a bricklayer, but later went fruit-growing at Avondale. Mr. and Mrs. Knight paid two visits to England, and on November 5, 1931, celebrated the sixty-fifth anniversary of their wedding. Deceased is survived by her husband and four children.

MR. B. H. BISHOP.

A well-known resident of Auckland, Mr. Benjamin Henry Bishop, of King Edward Avenue, Epsom, died on December" 4 after a short illness. He was born at Raglan 70 years ago and had lived practically all his life in Auekiand, where he carried on the business of contractor for many years. His grandfather was the Rev. H. A. Bishop, rector of Lonprstowe, Cambridge, England. Deceased was the son of Mr. and Mrs. B. A. Bishop, of Kingsland, and for about 30 years was an active member of the Mount Eden Methodist Church, where lie took keen interest in work among the young people. In his younger days Mr. Bishop was a member of the Auckland Football Club. He also took a, great interest in training horses and dogs. He was for many years i member of the Pakuranga Hunit Club and was recently elected as a life member. Mr. Bishop was appointed by the club specially to look after the Vice-Regal party when in Auckland. He was a frequent exhibitor of horses and dogs at the shows of the Agricultural and Pastoral Association. He bad a special gift for training both horses and dogs. Mr. Bishop is survived by Mrs. Bishop and four children.
