"A SUPREME EFFORT."
TOWARDS DISARMAMENT. MB. HENDERSON'S MESSAGE. GRAVE RESPONSIBILITY. (By Teleffraph.—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, this day. Some time ago the Dominion Council of the League of Nations Union sent a cable to Mr. Arthur Henderson, president of the Disarmament Conference, sharing his disappointment at the results of the Geneva Conference and expressing the hope that the next meeting would achieve at least President Hoover's proposed reduction, and urging an intensified appeal to. public opinion to keep on demanding world peace through disarmament. In a reply now received from Mr. Henderson he says: "I am trusting this eecond phase of the conference will produce a great harvest of concrete results, for I feel confident none of the delegations can fail to recognise the gravs responsibility which is laid upon the conference and upon the bureau of the conference now in session. I believe it is our duty to make a supreme effort to achieve the full purpose for which the conference was brought about."
