NOT OPTIMISTIC.
CREOSOTE OIL REPORTS. (Beceived 10.30 a.m.) SYDNEY, this day. The official reports on the use of creosote oil as motor fuel are not optimistic. The saving that could be effected would only be appreciable where it is employed on a large scale.
A recent cable from London stated that three chemists at the Belfast gasworks had perfected a progress for the production of creosote oil for motor fuel, which had given highly satisfactory results. Local bus companies had converted their fleets to the use of the new fuel, which was being snapped up at 6d per gallon. Similai promising results were reported from London and Manchester. The formula, it was reported, had been broadcast throughout the Empire,
