TOMATOES AND POULTRY
COMPULSORY REGISTRATION. DEHORNING OF CATTLE. TWO CONTENTIOUS MEASURES ? (By Telegraph.—Parliamentary Eeporter.) WELLINGTON, this day. Bills providing for the registration of tomato growers and poultry keepers, as well as a measure to provide for the compulsory dehorning of cattle, will come before Parliament this session. It is quite likely that each of these will prove to be contentious., particularly in the case of the dehorning of I cattle. In this case the principal opposition is expected to come from station ownere, who hold that working costs will be increased. Registered stud stock will be exempted from the operations of the bill.
