LEADING CLUBS START. SEVERAL OFFICIAL OPENINGS. OUTER SUBURBAN COMPETITIONS. Conditions were blustery and unpleasant for the opening day of most of the leading tennis clubs of Auckland on Saturday. Lawns were in splendid order at the two leading grass courts, Itemuera, and Eden and Kpsoin, and the attendance at all courts was large. Progressive tournaments were played at most courts. The standard of play was fairly good for the opening of the season. / The president of the New Zealand Lawn Tennis Association, Mr. G. Gore, accompanied by Mr. .R. B. Hardy, president of the Auckland Lawn Tennis Association, had a busy afternoon visiting Eden and Epsom, Royal Oak, Auckland, Remuera, United,-West End and Mount Albert. OUTER SUBURBAN.
