MARRIED MEN'S CAMP.

CONSERVING CITY WORKS

POLICY OF THE BOARD.

(By Telegraph.—Parliamentary Reporter.) WELLINGTON, this day.

Inquiry was made by Mr. A. Harris (Government, Waitemata) in the House yesterday as to whether reconsideration had been given the question of drafting married relief workers to country camps, and whether an indication would be given of the decision reached on the proposals of the Takapuna Borough Council concerning the waterfront road scheme.

Replying, the acting Minister of Employment, Mr. Hamilton, said the board was endeavouring to get men into camps because it was difficult to provide reproductive work in the cities. It was better to keep some of the city work for the winter, and in the summer to placc men in the country. He promised to look into the question raised concerning the waterfront road scheme.
