SALT LICKS FOR CATTLE.
Spccial machinery is used by one of the big salt-producing firms to • make cattle iicks. These are blocks about the size of bricks, made of salt compresscd under 150 toils pressure. The cows and sheep like a taste of salt now and then, and- these hard bricks stand the wear of their tongues well.
