The best score in the first round \vas 71, which was returned by B. M. Silk and H. A. Black. Many spectators followed tlie professional Shaw, who has held the title for the past two years, and who was paired to-day with Dr. lioss. Shaw finished tlie morning with 74 and Ross with 78.
