MOTUEKA BY-ELECTION.
POLLING BAY, DECEMBER 1. MR. HOLYOAKE FOR COALITION. (By Telegraph.—Parliamentary Reporter.) WELLINGTON, this day. Thursday, December 1, lias been fixed as the date for the Motueka by-election. Nominations close on November 16. The actual writ is to be issued to-day.
Mr. K. J. Holyoake lias automatically received official endorsement as the Coalition candidate in the contest. The Prime Minister, when commenting on the matter, 6aid Mr. Holyoake was the only supporter of the Government among the candidates announced, and it could be accepted that he would be the official nominee. "He is a young man, but I consider he has a good chance of winning the seat," added the Prime Minister.
