RIFLE SHOOTING.
PRESENTATION 'OF PRIZES. Colonel .T. B. Bulgan, Officer Commanding Northern Command, presented trophies won at the Auckland-military rifle meeting before an enthusiastic - gathering in the Territorial Association club rooms last evening. Major Puddick occupied the chair. • ' . - The Hallyburton : Johnstone Bowl and Major John Whitney Memorial Cup were handed over by Mr. Goldstine, deputychairman of the Territorial Association executive, to Colonel Dulgan for presentation to the winners. Colonel Duigan, in making the presentations, congratulated the winners, and particularly the City Rifle Club's team, which won the Hallyburton Johnstone Cup and Gordon Rifle Shield with a wonderful score. He stressed the value of rifle shooting as an interesting and necessary part of the training of the territorial force, and of meetings pf this nature in bringing representatives of all shooting units and organisations together in sporting rivalry. Clevedon R.S.A. and Mounted Rifles representative, who came long distances at some personal inconvenience ,to assist the meeting, were particularly mentioned. At the conclusion of presentations the gathering was entertained at supper by the ladies' committee of the territorial association.
