SOCCER, RUGBY AND LEAGUE. (Received 11.30 a.m.) LONDON, November 2. Football matches played to-day resulted: — Soccer (Southern Division). —Swindon beat Brighton by five goals to one. Rugby.—Eastern ' Counties defeated Middlesex 14—11, and Cambridge University was too good for Guy'e Hospital 21—7. League. —Yorkshire Cup semi-final: Wakefield beat Halifax 16—11. Lancashire Cup semi-final: Salford drew with St. Helens 2—2.
