TRADE WITH CANADA.

NEW DIRECT SERVICE. LAST SHIP UNDER OLD SCHEDULE. The Canadian [National eteamer Canadian Constructor, which arrived at Auckland from Montreal and berthed at the Prince's wharf this morning, will be the last of the company's vessels to proceed from New Zealand to Australia for further discharge and for loading, for at the end of the present month the direct New Zealand service will be reinstated. The first vessel to come to New Zealand from Canada under the new schedule will be the Canadian Leader, which left Montreal on October 20 and is expected to reach. Auckland about' November 28. She will discharge all of her cargo at New Zealand ports, and will also load for' New York, Boston and Canada without proceeding to Australia. It is expected that she will sail finally from one of the South Island ports. When the Canadian Government ran a direct service between Canada and New Zealand previously the ships went South to discharge and; load, but returned to Auckland to fill up. Although the direct service has been reinstated, it has been decided that the vessels will make only one call at Auckland each trip. The next vessel on the Montreal loading, berth is the Canadian Conqueror, which is to sail on November 19, and is due at Auckland towards the end of December.
