CHAMPIONSHIPS UNDER WAY. MEETING AT HERETAUNGA. FIRST ROUND OF FOURSOMES. (By Telegraph.—Special to "Star.") WELLINGTON", this day. The New Zealand golf championship meeting opened in fine weather this morning at the Heretaunga links, which, are in perfect order. The , outward nine holes cover 3102 yards, and as the homeward journey exteriSs over 2986 yards, the full j scheduled course is 6088 yards for a bogey of 72 (36 both ways). The present champions are:—Open and professional, A. J. Shaw; amateur, Rana W.agg; professional foursomes, A. J. Shaw, and Jas. Watt; amateur foursomes, EL' A. and J. L. Black.
