TRAWLER WRECKED.
British Steamer Saves Jap. Crew. SEAMANSHIP PRAISED. HONGKONG, November 1. The British steamer Glenshiel, Captain P. Sanders, arrived at Hongkong with 31 Japanese seamen rescued under most hazardous conditions from the trawler Shenshan Maru. The trawler broke from her moorings during a typhoon near Pratas Shoal and drifted 150 miles. The crew of the Glenshiel observed the distress flares and the vessel was rushed to the scene. Captain Sanders managed with, great difficulty to manoeuvre his steamer alongside the sinking trawler. He then had ladders dropped by means of which all on board were rescued. The seamanship of Captain Sanders is greatly praised as there was a tremendous sea running when the rescue was effected.
