AIR CONTROVERSY.
ENGLAND-AUSTRALIA LINE. LONDON, October 26. The England-Australia air mail may necessitate the Commonwealth, rearranging its air services, says the aeronautical correspondent of "The Times." While the two sections of the aviation community are out of harmony, there is a possibility of undercutting in tendering, and there is a real danger that low tenders will result in inefficiency. Yet if the Government refused to accept the lowest tender it might be hard to justify its decision. A simpler course, which would secure a trustworthy link in the Imperial air chain, would be to determine the routes which it is desirable to assist and divide them between the operating companies best fitted to serve, giving each a fair share of the available subsidies.
