GOOD COLLECTION OF RATES. (By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) THAMES, Tuesday. Although the borough rate demands were only sent out on Saturday, the commissioner, Mr. C. L. Grange, reports that already there has been an excellent response by ratepayers to his. request for prompt payment. A sum of approximately £650 had been received up to mid-day to-day. Mr. Grange to-day completed the application of sinking funds in reduction of the various borough loans. In all a sum of £25,165 will be distributed.
