PRAISE FOR HOSPITAiaiTT. ASSOCIATION'S DINNER. Before the members of the Americaij lawn tennis team, Messrs. H. E. Vines, W. Allison, J. Van Ryn, K. Gledhill and Mesdames Vines, Allison and Van Ryn, sailed for Australia by the Aorangi last night, they were the guests of the Auck< land Lawn Tennis Association at an official dinner at Hotel _ Cargen. The president of the association, Mr. R. B. Hardy, proposed the toast of "The King and the President of the United States." and Mr. T. E. Hickson proposed the toast of "The American Team."

The manager of the team, Mr. Wilmftr Allison, eajd the whole party had been delighted with the hospitality they had received in Auckland. They had ail heard a great deal about the ability of New Zealanders as entertainers, and now that they had sampled the hospitality they would be keen to pay a return visit. They had all been particularly pleased with the courts, which could not have been improved upon. Mr. G. Gore, president of the New Zealand Lawn Tennis Association; proposed the toast of "Kindred Associations, coupled, with the name of Australia," arid Sir Norman Kater, a well-known Australian grazier, replied. Each member of the American party was presented with a small memento by Mr. Hardy, on behalf of the Auckland Lawn Tennis' Association.

Yesterday morning the Americans played golf at Titirangi and in the afternoon they were taken for a short drive, and afterwards had afternoon tea at the home of the American Consul, Mr. W. F. Boyle.
