COMPULSORY SUBDIVISION! (By Telegraph.—Parliamentary Reporter.) WELLINGTON, this day. The suggestion that closer settlement could be brought about without the Government having to purchase land was made in the House last night byMr. A. E. Jull (Government, Waipawa). His solution was to inform landowners with large blocks of suitable land that if it were not subdivided by a certain date additional taxation would be imposed, as a persuasive measure.
