WORKER'S EYE INJURED.

A married man, Mr. Maurice Leydon, aged 37, received a serious injury to his left eye during the course of his employment at the Westfield Freezing Works yesterday afternoon. He was hanging meat on hooks, and was etruck in the eye by the sharp end of one of the hooks. He was taken to the Auckland Hospital by the St. John Ambulance, and it was stated by the authorities to-day that an operation was necessary. .. .
