"MADMAN OR FOOL?"

GREYMOUTH BOMB OUTRAGES. THIRD EXPLOSION I.AST NIGHT POLICE IN THE DARK. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) GREYMOUTH, this day. Another bomb explosion, the third in a month, occurred at 9 o'clock last evening just inside the fence round the railway workshops area in the centre of the town. No damage was done, but cinders were blown from the yard to the roofs of adjacent buildings. The detonation was heard half a mile away. The police were quickly on the scene, but are reticent until further investigations have been made. A search this morning revealed that the bomb had been placed between two stacks of stringers in the railway yard. The space between the stacks measures 24 feet by 10 feet. The explosion made a hole of over 2 feet deep, 4 long and 5 feet wide. There are indications that the explosive was placed in a tin with a fuse attached. When interviewed, Police Inspector Lopdell said the police were in the dark Us much as the public. It was impossible to interpret the mine', of the madman or fool who was responsible. "And when you seek to find the design in these tilings you are baffled," the inspector added.
