CLAY-BIRD SHOOTING.
METROPOLITAN GUN CLUB. The Metropolitan Gun Club held its fortnightly shoot on Saturday. Conditions were not the best for good shooting, there- belns a strong wind from the right, which made good scoring miner difficult. Results:— No. 1 Seven-bird Sweepstake.—l'. N. Gallic (18yds). J. Milson (14yds) and A. J. Hanignn (12yds) all shot the possible and divided the pool. No. 2 IS-Bird Match for Dr. T. H. Pettit's Cup.—G. !•'. Keene (15yds) shot the possible and took the cup. which he holds for one year, and first money in the sweep. A. J. Hanignn (12yds) nnd P. H. Seccombe (10yds) divided second money witli 14 each. Xo. 3 Nine-bird Novelty Shoot.—L. Peterson shot the possible and took first money from the stake. F. H. Seccombe nnd G. Kosoof divided second money with eight each.
No. 4 Ten-bird Double Rise. — J. A. Malcolm (12yds) secured first money with the possible. L. Peterson (13yds) and V. H. Seccombe (14yds) divided second with nine each.
No. 5 Seven-bird Box Shoot (all off 24yds).— J. C. Whitney, P. N. Gallic. L. J. Street and L. Peterson all tied with five each. In the shoot-off Street and Peterson divided on the 14th bird.
The next shoot will be held on Saturday, November 5, wlicu a ladles' match will also be fired.
