LABOUR DAY SERMON.
GLEN EDEN METHODIST CHURCH. SERVE AND "RENDER JUSTLY." A special Labour Day sermon, entitled "Lilristianity and Labour," was preached in the Glen Eden Methodist Church on Sunday evening, by the Rev. C. B. Jordan, M.A. Reading froru the Methodist law book, which sets forth the Church's attitude regarding Labour questions, the preacher stressed the importance of the application of Christian ethics to the relations nf capital and labour. It was the duty of labour to render service as unto God, as also it was the duty of capital to render justly to labour what was due. Whilst deploring the present state of affairs, we could not change them in a moment. They had been long in growing to this etage, and the only solution was to be found in understanding the teaching of Jesus Christ and applying it to our daily lives. A solo, "Sons of Labour," was sung by Mrs. Gilbert, the organist being Mrs. C. B. Jordan.
