Historic was having his first run since returning from Sydney when he. won the Harcourt Cup at Trentham yesterday, repeating his success of two years ago. He appeared to be going comfortably at the end of this race, but had to do his best over the last 50 yards to stall off Gay Crest, who ran a good race, though he was boring out at the finish. Historic has contested 83 races, winning 19. his total stake earning being 8824sovs. He is to go to Riccarton for the New Zealand Cup and will be ridden by 8.. H. Morris.
