FATAL ERROR.
Song Composer Who Suspected Cancer. PATHETIC SUICIDE NOTE. (Received 10 a.m.) LONDON, October 24. "I know I have got cancer. I would rather die early than linger." Such was the note left by Howard Fisher, composer of songs, including "My Old Violin." He was found dead from poisoning. His widow, giving evidence, said her husband was worried because his parents had died of cancer. He twice previously took overdoses of medinal, which he used owing to sleeplessness.
Sir Bernard Spilsbury, Home Office pathologist, gave evidence that the post mortem revealed no sign of cancer.
