HEAVY RAIN IN WELLINGTON.

(By Telegraph.—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, this day. Heavy rain fell during the night, and it was still raining, more or less, with a leaden sky, at 11 o'clock this morning. The Wellington Racing Club's meeting at Trentham, however, was continued. The Labour Day sports, also "Old Boys' Day" at Wellington College, and all bowling, tennis, etc., to which people had been looking forward, were postponed.
