Green hank (Akarana) beat J. S. Rankin, 4 and 3; and C. J. Johnston (Ptikekohe) beat A. Ely, "• and 4. Though Greenbank lost the first two holes he made a fine recovery to become 2 up at the eighth, nnd then held his lead throughout. Johnston was too steady for Ely, adding one each of the first five holes. In the concurrent medal handicap the best cards were:—D. It. Garrard. 70—10—(JO : W. Greenbank, SO—S —72 : 11. P.enuvais, 02—20—72; G. SMtchbury, S.'—lo—72.
