BOWLING.
Labour Day Tourneys.—Rain Dislocates Plans. Arrangements had been made for 24 club bowling tournaments to-day, but the heavy downpour of last night and this morning completely upset all arrangements. Several clubs deemed it. advisable to abandon play altogether, in view of the ill-effect on the greens of play immediately after such heavy rain. But the largest tourney, that conducted by the Epsom, Balmoral and Mount Eden clubs in combination, was commenced early in the afternoon, after sun and wind had dried the greens somewhat. The games were played at the Epsom and Balmoral greens.
