RUGBY FOOTBALL.
MANUKAU PRIZE NIGHT. The Manukau Rovers' Rugby Football Club wound up the season on Saturday night with a social and dance, at which prizes won during the year were presented. On behalf of their teams, the. following players accepted the club's trophies : — Jordan Cup, Mr. L. Heazlewood; Pollard Cup, Mr. A. Berridge ; North v. South Cup, Mr. J. Brimble ; Williams and Syers Shield, Mr. A. Motion; Dodd Cup, Messrs. F. Vickery and L. Hcighway.. The club's secretary, Mr. C. J. Wißlams, was presented with a blazer as a mark of recognition of his valuable and willing services. The prizes were presented by the club's patron, Mr. W. J. Jordan, M.P The Auckland Rugby Union's chairman, Mr. HarryFrost, also attended. He congratulated the club on its past achievements, and on the enthusiastic support of the ladles. "No sport," he said, "can go far wrung if it has the patronage of the fair sex." He predicted that the club would, before long, achieve, championship honours, and it had already won the distinction of being the most popular club with the patrons of the' game on Eden Park. J
