DIXIELAND.
Dixieland was crowded on Saturday evening, when a merry few hours passed pleasantly. Draught fans have been installed for the summer months, and in consequence the cabaret was delightfully cool and freeh throughout the evening. Pots and stands of ferns were arranged in the vestibules, and inside the tables in the cubicles were arranged with vases of roses grown in the cabaret's own rose garden and with Iceland poppies. Photographs which had been loaned by the Railway Department's studio, showing the spiral and other notable places connected with the railWays, adorned the walls, and in front of the stand for the band a tennis net had been arranged. Spanish dances were performed by Miss Muriel Wilton, and were warmly applauded. Old-time and modern dance music was played by the band under the leadership of Mr. Donglas Armishaw, and encores were frequent throughout the evening.
