NAZI PLOT RUMOUR.
OVERTHROW OF VON PAPEN? BERLIN, October 23. Rumours are published of a Nazi plot to make the President, Marshal von Hindenburg, a virtual prisoner at Neudeck and compel him to agree to a dictatorship by Herr Hitler. Another rumour suggests that Herr Hitler is to be appointed Chancellor and that the plans leaked out in spite of the fact that the authorities took precautions. Some of the newspapers say they believe the reign of Herr von Papen is closing and that General Schleicher shortly will succeed him. Herr von Papen, in replying to Herr Hitler, says Germany is only demanding that other nations shall reduce their armaments to a level which, reckoning their special positions, shall correspond to German disarmament under the Versailles Treaty. . . •
