QUOTATIONS FOR METALS. A LITTLE FIRMER. / LONDON, Octobcr 5. Following are to-day's quotations oil the London metal market, compared with those of October 4: —

AUSTRALIAN PRODUCE. (Received 10 a.m.) MELBOURNE, this day. Wheat, 3/4 per bushel. Flour, £8 15/ per ton. Bran, £5. Pollard, £5 10/. Oats, 1/10 per bushel. Barley is unchanged. Maize, 4/10 to 4/11. Onions, Silverskins, £24 to £27 per ton, without cases. WHEAT CARGOES, ETC, (Received 11 a.m.) LONDON, October 6. In wheat cargoes trading is inactive, with prices nominally unchanged. Parcels are in poor demand and are obtainable 3d down. Futures: London, December, 23/8 per quarter; February, 23/4; April, 23/6; Liverpool, October, 5/4% per cental; December, 5/4%; March, 5/4%. Spot trade is slow. Australian ex ship, 29/3. Flour (Australian) is firm at 21/ to 21/6. Oats are dull. Australian, Algerian, 15/ to 16/; Gartons, 18/ to 20/. Peas have an improved demand. Blue Tasmanian, 380/ to 400/; Maples (Tasmanian),' 72/6; New Zealand, 67/. New Zealand beans, 28/ to 30/. GOLD AND SILVER. (Received 11 a.m.) LONDON, October 6. Silver is quoted at 17 11-16 d per oz for spot delivery and 17% d for forward. Gold is quoted at £5 19/5 per oz.
