(By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) WHANGAREI, this day. The Whangarei Bowling Club's greens and the Whangarei Croquet Club's lawns were officially opened in fine weather yesterday afternoon. Mr. J. A. Finlayson, president of the club, and Mr. O. R. Haigh, vicepresident of the centre, spoke at the bowling function, and Mrs. Finlayson threw the jack. At the croquet opening Mr. Finlayson announced that the lawns would not be ready for play until October 20. The first ball was hit by Mrs. G. S. B. Morrison, I president.
