If Grammar Schools' Old Boys beat Ponsonby to-morrow or draw with the blue and blacks, they will retain the Gallaher Shield, won last season. In the event of victory for Ponsonby, another match will he necessitated, as the rules provide for replay where the leading teams have an equal number of championship points.
