ANNUAL CHARITY DAY.
CHAMPIONSHIP RUNNERS-UP TIE. After a postponement of senior fixtures in recognition of the Palmer benefit at Eden Park, the Auckland Rugby League will hold its popular Charity Day tomorrow, when, as usual the programme of matches will bo varied and in keeping with the termination of a good season. The principal fixture, which will decide the runners-up in the premiership, in which Marist Old Boys and Ponsonby United were level, each being two points below Devonport, should provide a fine contest. The Western Suburbs side has been out of action for a fortnight, but a number of its players were in the Auckland side which on Saturday defeated South Auckland for the Sunshine Cup. The Marist team Bhould be in form after its performance at New Plymouth.
Several early junior matches will be finals. In the fifth grade, if Newton-win they will have captured the championship and knockout, whereas success by Northcote will assure them the knock-out honours. " In the seventh grade knock-out, Richmond will be keen to preserve an
