MR. GERALD T. SAMSON.

The late Mr. Gerald Tuearsly Samson, of Northlands, Waimate, was buried with full Masonic honours in the old Waimate Church Cemetery. Mr. Samson belonged to Lodge Albion, No. 45, Freemasons, when he lived at Devonport. Later he affiliated with Lodge Ohaeawai, No. 101. During his residence at North Shore, Mr. Samson was for seven years a member of the Vauxhall school committee, also a member of the Vagabond Choir, the North Shore Football and Cricket Clubs, the Tainui Tennis Club, and the Pupuke Golf Club. While living further north, he was instrumental in obtaining for -the Waimate Golf Club, links which were started on his property, last March. During the Great War, Mr. Samson served with the Engineering Tunnelling Corps, was four years in France, and twice wounded.
