AUCKLAND DEFENCE CLUB.
The Auckland City Defence Club opened Its championship series with a shoot at 500 and 000 yards on Saturday afternoon at Penrose. There was a choppy left wind blowing that caused many wide shots, especially at the longer range. C. J. Robieson won the' A grade spoon with 91. His performance was a very creditable one under the circumstances. The B grade spoon was taken by ,T. Walker, who scored 87 off the rifle. Walker Is a young shot who took up the game only last year. He is shaping very well this season and should finish well up in his grade. A t ro'lhy points were won by C. .T. Robiepon 3. F. Bowes 2. A. G. Robertson 1. B grade: J. Walker 3, G. Beuth 2 and T. P.
